Project Zip CodeOhio credit unions can add some "ZIP" to political action
Project Zip code tracks the number of CU members in each legislative district

Through Project Zip Code, more than 50 million credit union members across the nation have been identified by Congressional district. Currently, there are 53 Ohio credit unions participating in the program. Project Zip Code is being used extensively to match credit union members to their state and federal legislators, assisting the leagues in their state legislative battles.

The Ohio League is asking for all credit unions in Ohio to give political action some Zip -- in the form of "Project Zip Code." Developed by CUNA and the Ohio League, this software program collects the zip codes of all your members and identifies in which legislative districts they live.

This simple program directly benefits your credit union by strengthening our position as we continually build relationships with your legislators. In years past, we could only estimate the number of credit union members in Ohio districts; Project Zip Code will allow the League to pinpoint exactly how many members reside in all four corners of the state, lending us more influence when dealing with legislators. For example, saying "226,000 credit union members live and vote in your district" has more impact than saying "12 credit unions are in your district."

To Complete Project Zip Code:

Please Read the User Manual first!
A user manual is included on this CD-ROM, which provides not only step-by-step instructions, but color pictures of pop-up screens users will see on their monitors as this program is run.  To access this manual, open up Windows Explore, click on the CD-ROM drive, click on the file called USERMANUAL, click on the file called pzchelp.pdf

All affiliated credit unions have received Project Zip Code information and a CD-ROM. Credit unions that have participated in project Zip Code tests report that the software is simple and user-friendly. The program collects/counts only Zip codes from your database information, and does not infringe on member privacy. For more information, please call 800-486-2917.
