Credit Union Statistics

In Ohio:

•  There are 392 credit unions in Ohio, with total assets of $20.85 billion.

•  175 Ohio credit unions are state-chartered, while 217 are federally-chartered.

•  Ohio credit unions serve
2.66 million credit union members.

•  The average Ohio credit union has 6,791 members, $53.19 million in assets, and $31.53 million in loans.

 

Nationally:

•  There are 7,653 credit unions in the United States. 4,682 are federally-charted, while 2,971 are state-chartered credit unions.

•  Nationally, credit unions serve more than 91.5 million members. The average credit union has only approximately 11,955 members.

•  The average credit union has $118.89 million in assets
