2002 OCUS Convention Outreach Project
'Bears for Bears' outreach project helps Troopers comfort kids

Ohio credit union staff and volunteers who attend the 2002 Convention & Expo, April 25-27 in Columbus, are invited to participate in the Ohio Credit Union System’s “Bears for Bears” outreach project.

OCUS, in cooperation with State Highway Patrol Federal Credit Union, will collect any new stuffed animals (bears not required) at the Convention registration desk to donate to the Ohio Troopers Coalition.

Credit unions are encouraged to collect the stuffed toys from staff and members to donate at the 2002 Convention.

Members of the State Highway Patrol give stuffed animals to children to comfort the children when they are traumatized as a result of an auto accident, the arrest of a parent, or another distressing event. Troopers also give the animals to ill children during hospital visits and to kids who are lost at events such as the Ohio State Fair.

Just collect new stuffed toys and bring them with you to the Convention registration desk.
