Detail

Planning sets the vision - the credit union’s direction.  Essentially, planning is deciding in advance what is to be done, when, and by whom.  Planning involves determining objectives, over what time period, and what person or committee will be responsible.

A strategic plan is a statement of intention.  It is the process that helps determine what services, programs, and facilities the credit union will offer to its members.  Strategic planning involves careful study of existing and potential member demand, the cost of the proposed service or program, and its impact on the structure of the credit union.

Planning is important to a credit union’s success.  A day or two should be devoted to this function in order to critique the credit union’s strengths and weaknesses, environmental threats and opportunities, and members’ needs and wants.

Detail

One key component of credit union success is drive by maintaining a growing and stable field of membership. It's not uncommon for a credit union to find its future in the hands of a sponsor when corporate decision makers are looking out for their bottom line.  By diversifying its field of membership, a credit union can chart its own course on its timeline, not someone else’s.

Selecting the right changes for field of membership can be difficult.  OCUL services consultants bring a proven track record to the table in helping credit unions through the decision making process.  Our consultants have worked with regulators to help find solutions and monitor the progress of client applications.

Product Performance

OCUL Service’s Field of Membership consulting gets the results that credit union professionals are looking for.  Our package development has helped to establish the benchmark for Ohio state chartered submissions.  And OCUL Services price point is significantly below that of national consulting firms.
