The Ohio Educational Credit Union (OECU) has been serving its members with quality financial services since 1933.  OECU provides a full range of superior financial products for the purpose of assisting and educating its membership in establishing and enhancing their financial well-being.

OECU currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to provide leadership to our retail sales team.  Responsibilities include:

  • Actively participating as a member of the management team in the development and implementation of the goals, plans and objectives of OECU.
  • Responsible for overall productivity of branch marketing and quality of member service.
  • Developing and sustaining a sales culture within the service delivery framework.
  • Directing and managing branch staff, including account executives.
  • Actively promoting credit union membership and services to new and existing membership groups.  Identifying potential membership groups in designated market areas and developing relationships for entry into the credit union.
  • Performing member needs analysis, monitoring competition, making recommendations for new marketing programs, products, products enhancements and rate adjustments.
  • Providing administrative support to the branch managers, assuring compliance with regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Represents OECU at events, meetings, community functions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in finance, business management, marketing or related field. 5-7 years of demonstrated success in the management of a retail team within the financial services environment (previous credit union experience a plus).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, relationship development and problem solving skills.  Ability to lead, train and motivate a team.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with other members of a management team.
  • Creative, resourceful, responsive and motivated to to contribute to the continued success of OECU and the financial well being of it membership.

Directions Credit Union is seeking a Controller to join its growing organization. This person would be responsible for directing, coordinating, maintaining and controlling our accounting system. 

Position purpose:  Responsible for safeguarding credit union assets. Ensures the accurate internal and external recording and reporting of financial transactions. Prepares reports for Senior Management, the board of directors, external users, and government agencies. Oversees budgeting, cost accounting, general ledger, accounts payable, fixed asset, accounts receivable, branch statistical reporting. Monitors department policies and procedures and recommends improvements. Serves as a resource in all aspects of accounting. Ensures that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory, and Credit Union procedures. Assigns, directs, and appraises accounting staff.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Graduate degree and CPA or CMA license strongly preferred. Thorough knowledge of the credit union industry accounting practices and procedures. Develops list of prospective clients through networking referrals, business associations and directories, and trade show follow-up.  Contacts prospective clients to present information and explain available services. Works with firm attorneys to identify new markets and performs research to determine potential feasibility/need of services.  Maintains positive relationships with existing clients. Reviews orders for ideas to expand services available to current clients.  Monitors files to ensure accounts are serviced in accordance with client expectations. Confers with clients and firm representatives to resolve complaints. Identifies opportunities to enhance firm visibility through speaking engagements and attendance at community events and functions.

Desired experience and skills: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four year college or university in marketing, communications, or a related field and a minimum of one year relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.  Knowledge of marketing principles and methods, principles and processes for providing customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction; computer operation and word processing, spreadsheet, and database software; ability to  present a positive image to the public.

Opens and maintains new member accounts including main and sub savings (vacation club, holiday club), checking accounts, IMMRAs (insured money market related accounts), certificates, and IRAs. Responsible for receiving, reviewing, and processing applications for consumer, home improvement, second mortgage, home equity, credit card, and overdraft account loans. Meets with applicants to explain credit policies and to obtain additional loan information and documentation.  Assembles and evaluates loan applications and forwards to credit committee for approval if required.  Answers member questions courteously and works with efficiency to resolve account maintenance issues.  Answers telephone inquiries promptly and completes transactions for members efficiently and enthusiastically.  Assists and supports Personal Account Specialists I and Personal Account Support Specialists as needed.  Completes required government forms and documents to ensure regulatory compliance on all accounts.
