SmartMoney Community Services (SMCS), a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide financial services and economic education to underserved individuals in Over-the-Rhine and Greater Cincinnati, has an opportunity for a qualified program manager to oversee the initiative, Bank On Greater Cincinnati. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the Bank On Greater Cincinnati pilot over a two-year period. This job will be responsible for realizing and directing the vision of this Bank On Greater Cincinnati initiative, overseeing the day to day operations, and building strong community relations around the issues of banking and asset building. 

 

Program Overview: An estimated 41,000 Greater Cincinnati households are “unbanked,” meaning they live without access to basic financial services, such as a checking or savings account. Among African Americans and Latinos, approximately half of the adult population does not have a bank account of any kind. With no safe place to cash their checks, pay their bills and keep their money, these citizens are forced to rely on high cost check cashers and other fringe financial service providers.

 

The Bank on Greater Cincinnati initiative seeks to address the problems faced by the unbanked, and help everyone transition into the financial mainstream. Key job responsibilities will focus on the following areas: bank and credit union partnerships, product development and program expansion, data tracking and the evaluation process, fundraising, marketing and media, outreach and community partnerships, financial training (in partnership with SMCS), and customer service.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s is preferred.  Minimum five years program management experience and/or relevant working experience in a functional role required. Candidate must have extensive data collection and program tracking experience. A thorough working knowledge of the banking industry, practices, procedures and philosophies is desired. Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills required. (Bilingual not required but recommended)

This candidate will provide administrative support to the team through call backs and clerical duties.  A complete understanding of all accounts and services as well as strong member service skills are essential.  Acting as a one-stop information source, the Sales Agent’s primary focus is to interview members for all consumer  and mortgage equity loan requests and assist the member in resolving loan-related problems.

A dynamic, 62-year-old federal credit union in southwest Ohio is seeking an experienced Mortgage Processor. Duties will include processing of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, Rural Development, and select in-house mortgages. The candidate must be detail oriented, highly organized, and computer literate. They must be highly efficient in Agency AUS, and Agency underwriting guidelines, as well as understanding credit reporting, reading, and investor relations. The candidate must have strong, friendly member service skills; work well with the public, including the real estate community; handle a high volume of files; and meet timing deadlines. The candidate will be responsible for documentation of processes, procedures, related internal controls, and compliance. The candidate must have a strong ability to assist in educating  members and clients about mortgages, credit, and various financial options.

Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and within established guidelines.   Must have a proficient knowledge of computer applications. Must be self motivated and able to multi-task. Qualified applicants must present a professional appearance, be bondable, and pass a background check.
