Prices of nearly everything are on the rise, unemployment in Ohio have reached recent record highs, and the economic forecasts show no signs of an upswing. Needless to say, Ohioans are straining harder than ever to make ends meet, and many will turn to local food banks and pantries for assistance.

In celebration of International Credit Union Month and philosophy of "People Helping People," credit unions throughout Ohio are encouraged to participate in the fifth annual Ohio Credit Union Food Drive.

The statewide drive will collect non-perishable food items to benefit the working poor, temporarily unemployed, seniors, veterans, single parent families, and children in need in your local community.

Your credit union simply needs a box to participate. The food collected by your credit unions should remain in your communities to benefit those in need locally. Each credit union chooses the organization(s) that will benefit from its food drive. Choose one or choose several.

The Ohio Credit Union League is providing customizable lobby posters, teller window posters, a newsletter article, and a press release for participating credit unions. Download the materials below. Katie Walton of the League can help your credit union customize the posters.
